UN Today Official News Release - Crisis Happened at G20 Conference

(9:20 am, July 16, 2009) CRSIS hit the international community and G-20 conference took care of this during their first session of this morning. Oil insecurity abruptly raised for Somalia pirates hijack two supertankers in concession, which will subsequently influence the safety of international navigation and raise the price of the oil in sequence.

Reporters from UN Today, thus, interviewed the dais member of G20 Mr. Zheng to talk about the expected solutions about the urgent crisis. He expressed that the tight cooperation between countries based on the common benefit would be expected to put into practice. When being asked about the possible practical solutions in his viewpoint, Mr. Zheng pointed in this way, “Although the Somali pirates problem is mainly discussed by the Security Council, the apparent negative effects resulted in the economic atmosphere can not be ignored. We are currently dealing with the new economic policy under this special situation.”
